Au Pair
A Live-In Caregiver is someone who provides continuous, full-time unsupervised care of Children, the Elderly, or the Disabled in a private household.
AS A LIVE-IN CAREGIVER OR AU-PAIR YOU MUST HAVE:

* High School Diploma or equivalent of Canadian High School
* At least 12 months experience in caring for children, elderly or disabled)
*Six months of full-time training or 12 months of experience in paid employment in a field or occupation related to the job you are seeking as a live-in caregiver. If you have education and training in nursing or teaching, you may apply as a live-in caregiver without previous experience. However, we strongly recommend that you have at least a few months experience.
* English or French language skills - you have to be able to understand and communicate with your employer, with your charge, and with many third parties (doctors, sales persons in stores, government offices, etc.)
* You must be willing to live in the household of your employer.
An Au-pair can work in Canada under the Live-In Caregiver Program. Canada designed this program in order to bring workers to Canada to fill the available live-in caregiver positions when there are not enough Canadians to fill them. A live-in caregiver is defined as someone who provides unsupervised care for children, the elderly or the disabled in a private house
